Me: I am still on the epic journey to read all the adult fiction authors in our local library from A-Z. I just finished Mycroft and Sherlock and moving on to Maria Abrams, whoever that is! Somewhere in here I will find some gems and become a fan. We are also gearing up for our annual read of Christmas Pig by JK Rowling. This will be year 3, it is our favorite Christmas story!

For a book study, I picked up a new book by Jeanne Birdsall called The Library of Unruly Treasures. So far, it has been exactly that . . a treasure! Hoping to have the study wrapped up in a week or two!

14YO: I just realized that this child had turned 14 and I still had him listed as 13. Maybe it was an intentional omission. He will start reading Oliver Twist this week for his literature study book. He is also reading Copper Sun for history. Today we picked up Fire and Ashes by Harley Tate for his fun read.

11YO: He has abandoned Ranger’s Apprentice at book 11. He said it was no longer interesting or fun. He will pick up on book 2 of The Roman Mysteries by Caroline Lawrence. We read book one as a read aloud and it was an okay read.
